The RCMP is investigating after another ATM was stolen from a business in southwestern Saskatchewan.
Two weeks after thieves drove a front-end loader into the Burstall Credit Union to get at the ATM, two suspects broke into a business in Shaunavon on Saturday, chained an ATM to a stolen truck, and pulled the cash machine out of the building.
The Shaunavon RCMP said officers got the call about the incident Saturday morning at around midnight.
One of the suspects was dressed in black clothing, while the other suspect wore a blue/green plaid jacket with a red hoodie underneath and light-coloured jeans.
“Officers have since located the stolen truck and the ATM on rural roads west of Shaunavon,” the Mounties said in a media release Tuesday. “All of the cash has been removed from the ATM.”
Anyone with information about the theft was asked to call the Shaunavon RCMP at 306-297-5550 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
The thefts of ATMs have become more commonplace in recent months.
In July, cash machines were stolen from a business in each of Burstall and Eatonia. A suspect in those break-ins was arrested in November.
