A 31-year-old man is facing charges in connection to a fire at a church in downtown Regina.
Jordan Willet was arrested on Friday and charged with arson with disregard for human life, disguise with intent and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Video footage shared with 980 CJME shows a masked person with what appears to be fuel light a fire at Blessed Sacrament Parish on Feb. 9.
On Saturday, Fr. James Hentges, the pastor of the church, said, “I am relieved he is in custody and is not a threat.”
The responding fire crews determined arson was the cause of the blaze.
A news release states that fire investigators contacted police to begin an arson investigation.
Officers used security video from the area to help identify and locate a suspect.
Willet will make his first court appearance on Feb. 20.
