“The search warrant execution resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of fentanyl, carfentanil, cocaine, methamphetamine, cash and a loaded 9mm carbine rifle,” the police service said in a statement.
Police said the items seized included nine kilograms of fentanyl, a half-kilogram of carfentanil, 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, a kilogram of methamphetamine, $21,191 in cash and a baton. The carbine and handgun were also seized.
“Nine kilograms of fentanyl is significant, as extremely small quantities of this drug can be lethal,” the police service noted in a statement.
“The nine kilograms is one of the largest amounts of fentanyl ever seized by the Regina Police Service.”
According to the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, fentanyl and acetyl fentanyl are the leading causes of drug-related deaths in the province.
All three suspects are now facing lengthy lists of drug and weapons charges. Police said all three made their first court appearances on Tuesday.
