A 28-year-old man is facing five counts of attempted murder after allegedly firing a gun at RCMP officers on the Muskoday First Nation last week.
According to the Mounties, officers were investigating a gun call in the area on Thursday afternoon when they spotted a black Dodge Ram that was believed to be involved.
“Officers made attempts to apprehend the suspects, however, a firearm was discharged and believed to be fired at the officers from the suspect vehicle,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Officers did not return fire and no physical injuries resulted.”

Police contained the area and called in help from the RCMP Critical Incident Response Team and Police Dog Services.
A man and a woman were arrested at the scene, the RCMP said. Despite allegedly firing a shot at police, the Mounties said the two people arrested weren’t involved in the initial gun call.
Police said 28-year-old Jason Lafferty was charged with five counts of attempted murder with a firearm, along with numerous other firearm charges, resisting or obstructing a peace officer and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
He’s set to appear in court in Prince Albert on Monday.
The other person arrested was a 25-year-old woman who’s been charged with one count of resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
The Muskoday First Nation is located about 10 kilometres southeast of Prince Albert.
