Regina police seized more than 10 kilograms of illicit drugs during a bust Friday.
That included 4.5 kilograms of fentanyl, which police said has a street value of around $1.8 million in single doses.
According to police, patrol officers and members of the drug unit arrested two men in a vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 500 block of Albert Street North. A release from police said officers “had reason to believe the two were involved in drug trafficking.”
A search of the vehicle found drugs, cutting agents, food colouring, mixing tools, heat sealers, weigh scales and packaging — all of which police said are “tools for mixing/cutting fentanyl.”
In addition to the fentanyl, police seized 5.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, 850 grams of cocaine, one litre of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), $22,238 in cash, and the vehicle.
It’s the second large seizure of drugs by Regina police in less than a month.

“The Regina Drug Unit remains committed to holding high-level dealers accountable,” Insp. Cory Lindskog of the Investigative Services Division said in the release. “Arrests like this result in a disruption of the, often-deadly, drug trade in our city by taking these dangerous drugs off of our streets.”
Christopher Ray Briltz, 38, was charged with three counts of possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of the proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Brent Douglas Orr, 51, is facing two charges of possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one of possession of the proceeds of property obtained by crime.
They made their first court appearances Monday.
