A Regina man was arrested by security after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife during a robbery in a hospital waiting room.
According to police, officers were called to a hospital on Dewdney Avenue just before 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. Police didn’t name the facility, but the block corresponds to the Pasqua Hospital.
“Hospital staff were reporting that a man pulled a weapon on a woman in the hospital waiting area,” police said in a statement.
“The man held a bladed weapon to the woman, demanding her belongings, and fled with her bag.”

Police said the woman wasn’t hurt during the robbery, and the 34-year-old man was arrested by hospital security before he could flee. He was transferred to police custody when the officers arrived.
The 34-year-old man is now charged with robbery and breaching court-ordered conditions, which police said included an order that he’s not to possess knives.
He made his first court appearance on Monday, police said.
