A 33-year-old Regina man is facing an arson charge after a fire broke out at a downtown business over the weekend.
Police officers and other emergency workers responded to the fire call at a business on McIntyre Street at around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.
“Police arrived and observed a small basement window had caught fire and was smoldering,” the Regina Police Service said in a statement.

The fire was contained to the outside of the building, police said. Firefighters worked to put it out, while police officers got their hands on security footage from the rear of the building, which showed a man starting the blaze.
“An area search was performed and later that evening, police were able to locate and arrest the suspect without incident,” the police service said.
The 33-year-old man is now facing an arson charge, and was scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.
