The CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders have added another former NFL draft pick to their roster.
The Roughriders announced Thursday they had signed defensive back Antoine Brooks Jr., who was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round (198th overall) of the 2020 NFL draft.
The 5-foot-11, 220-pounder played four regular-season games with the Steelers that season, then signed with the Los Angeles Rams in September of 2021. He appeared in eight games with the Rams in 2021, winning a Super Bowl with them.
He played one season with the XFL’s Seattle Sea Dragons, recording 28 tackles and two sacks in 2023.

Brooks Jr. played four seasons at the University of Maryland, starting 35 games during his career with the Terrapins. He recorded 237 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, four sacks, four interceptions, nine pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
As a senior, he was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list, putting him in consideration for the annual award as the best defensive player in the NCAA. He also was named the Terrapins’ MVP that season.
Brooks Jr. is the latest former NFL draft pick to sign with the Riders.
The Riders also signed wide receiver Dazz Newsome (Chicago Bears, sixth round, 221st overall), wide receiver KeeSean Johnson (Arizona Cardinals, sixth round, 174th overall), defensive back Jamar Johnson (Denver Broncos, fifth round, 164th overall), and defensive lineman R.J. McIntosh (New York Giants, fifth round, 139th 0verall).
