A Regina man is facing a list of charges after police say he stole a truck and threatened hotel staff.
On May 3, at approximately 10:45 a.m., police were dispatched to the 900 block of Albert Street for a report of a stolen truck.
While police responded to that call, they received a second report saying the stolen truck had crashed into a fence on the 1300 block of Angus Street and the driver had run away on foot.
Five minutes later, police were sent to a hotel in the 2400 block of Dewdney Avenue for a report of a robbery. It was discovered that a man had entered a hotel restaurant where he allegedly caused damage, stole merchandise, and threatened to shoot staff before running away.
When police arrived at the hotel, they discovered the suspect had returned to the business and was causing another disturbance.
The police would then find the man in one of the hotel hallways. A foot chase would then take place, which ended outside with the man in custody.
Through an investigation, police determined the man was the same person who had previously stolen the vehicle.
The man is charged with robbery, vehicle theft, failing to stop after an accident, and driving while impaired.
