Three people were arrested on Thursday as part of a drug trafficking investigation which saw police seize more than 10 kilograms of illegal drugs.
The police force’s drug unit and SWAT team arrested three people on Thursday afternoon. Two of them were arrested on Froom Crescent, where a search turned up four kilograms of suspected fentanyl, 2.25 kilograms of suspected cocaine, 6.5 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine and more than $29,000 in cash.

More search warrants were later executed on University Park Drive, police said. During those searches officers found another half-kilogram of suspected fentanyl, another half-kilogram of suspected methamphetamine, roughly 100 grams of cocaine and more than $5,000 in cash.
According to police, the total value of the drugs was estimated to be “well over one million dollars.”
All three suspects – ages 19, 20 and 23 – were each charged with three counts of possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.
“Four and a half kilograms of Fentanyl is significant, as extremely small quantities of this drug can be lethal,” the police service noted in a statement.
