9:30 – Saskatchewan’s Justice Minister, Bronwyn Eyre, sent a letter to Deputy Prime Minister, Chrystia Freeland, last week. The letter expressed concerns on behalf of the Saskatchewan government regarding the Fall Economic Statement Act. Minister Eyre joins Evan to explain the letter and the province’s concerns.

10:00 – Evan catches up with Saskatoon’s Deputy Chief Dave Haye, to talk local crime statistics, how the city is doing in 2024 and what information people in Saskatchewan should be aware of.

10:30 – Saskatchewan is starting to see its own athletes named to rosters set to compete at the Olympics in Paris later this year. One Saskatoon athlete, paraswimmer Shelby Newkirk, is one of them.

11:00 – A strike by Canadian Border Services Agency workers is looming, along with a potential rail strike by CPKC and CN workers. Shaun Haney, founder and CEO of Real Agriculture, gives the updates on these potential labour disputes and the disruptions they might mean for border travel and the supply chain.

11:30 – A new way of cleaning up oil spills connected to the Canadian Light Source in Saskatoon has been found. Dr. Helen Zhang, Canada Research Chair for Coast Environmental Engineering and professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Memorial University in St. John’s, joins Evan to discuss her research.

12:00 – According to Forest Saskatchewan, the province’s forest industry is on target to generate close to $2 billion in annual revenues and currently supports more than 8,000 jobs in northern Saskatchewan. Forest Saskatchewan sees growing concerns after meeting with various communities about dangers to the province’s forests and Carl Neggers, CEO OF SM Solutions, joins Evan to share those dangers.
