As they graduate from the University of Regina, thousands of people are taking the next step in their lives this week.
Tyler Stewart graduated with a Bachelor of Education and a degree in science — he crossed the stage on Wednesday.
“It was a lot of fun. Pre-COVID probably was my favourite time, I had a lot of fun. (I) focused a lot on the schooling, which was also good in the end.”
Brooke Sali also graduated with a Bachelor of Education and was looking ahead to the future.
“I just want to continue teaching the youth, and having those great experiences … and finding a place that fits for me,” said Sali.
Karley Van Desype said she wants to use her Bachelor of Education to help the next generation.
“I really wanna inspire students to get into science and math because it was not something that I was told that I could do,” said Van Desype.
Darian Zadorozniak said these graduates did their schooling through some unusual circumstances.
“It was a different experience, for sure. I was here through COVID and stuff like that. And my internship recently, like going through the strikes and bargaining agreements with the ongoing STF and government … It’s been really interesting, and I feel like it’s been a pretty unique experience compared to the traditional university experience,” he said.
Two more groups of graduates are set to get their diplomas on Thursday and Friday.
