Mounties are searching for a prisoner who escaped from police on Canada Day in Dinsmore.
According to the RCMP, officers from the Outlook detachment arrested a man on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court on Canada Day at around 3 p.m.
“The male, 58-year-old Michael Edstrom of Dinsmore, fled on foot when being escorted to a parked police vehicle,” the RCMP explained in a statement.
“Outlook RCMP is actively working to locate him and ask members of the public to report all sightings or information on his whereabouts.”

Edstrom stands five-foot-11, police said, and weighs 170 pounds. He has light brown hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a t-shirt, denim cut-off shorts, black sneakers and a baseball cap.
Anyone who spots Edstrom was urged to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
Dinsmore is located southwest of Saskatoon.
