An escaped prisoner in Saskatchewan was found dead this week, but the RCMP says his death isn’t considered suspicious.
According to police, 58-year-old Michael Edstrom fled on foot while he was being walked to a police vehicle in Dinsmore on Canada Day at around 3 p.m. According to police, his arrest was due to an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court.
Police issued a news release asking the public to keep an eye out for Edstrom.

On Tuesday afternoon, police said Edstrom had been found dead.
“After initial investigation, Outlook RCMP believes his death to be non-suspicious in nature. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service continues to investigate,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“His family has been notified and victim services made available to them.”
