One person died in a plane crash in southern Saskatchewan on Friday – the third similar crash in a little over a week.
According to the RCMP, a call went out about a plane crash around 6:30 a.m. on Friday in the RM of Coteau — the Transportation Safety Board (TSB) said it was near the Village of Birsay, close to Lake Diefenbaker.
The Mounties said the only person who was in the plane was declared dead on scene by paramedics.
The TSB said it would be sending out a team of investigators to assess what happened.

Yesterday, just before 8 a.m., there was another plane crash in the RM of Invergordon, west of Melfort.
According to the Birch Hills Fire & Rescue’s social media page, a crop spraying plane had crashed into a field.
When emergency crews got there bystanders were already trying to help treat the pilot.
STARS Air Ambulance landed and loaded up the pilot, who was in serious but stable condition.
On July 11 another downed airplane in the province.
The Melfort Fire Department posted on social media that a call came in about the plane crash around 6:30 a.m.
A small plane had gone down in a farmer’s field. The pilot was helped out by Melfort EMS and then taken to hospital by STARS.
No further information was available.
