Pelican Narrows RCMP are hunting for a man charged with assault with a weapon — and police say it is the same man wanted for a Saskatoon homicide.
In a news release on July 21, police asked people to report sightings and information on the whereabouts of 28-year-old Kendell Ameech.
Police said Ameech is wanted to face charges including multiple counts of assault with a weapon, as well as other weapons-related charges.
These charges were laid as a result of investigations that occurred between March and July 2024 in Pelican Narrows, RCMP said.
Ameech is described as approximately 6- foot-2, and his approximate weight is unknown. He has brown hair, brown eyes and numbers tattooed on his left wrist, a dollar sign tattooed on his left forearm, and letters and crosses tattooed on his fingers.
Ameech is known to travel to Kinistin Salteaux Nation, RCMP said.
Ameech is also wanted by Saskatoon Police Service in relation to the homicide of Melissa Duquette, whose body was found in the basement of a home in the 3200 block of 33rd Street West in April.
Police charged two men with the homicide on July 17, but are still looking for Ameech.
Anyone with any information about Ameech is asked to inform Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at saskcrimestoppers.com.
