A young boy was taken to hospital by a STARS helicopter after a collision in Melville on Monday evening.
According to the RCMP, the collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian happened in the area of Seventh Avenue and King Street, a residential area, at around 9 p.m.

“STARS transported the child to hospital in Saskatoon,” the RCMP said in a statement. “The child, who is a male under the age of 12, has injuries described as serious in nature.”
Roads in the area were closed during the initial investigation, but police said the detours have since been removed.
“Melville RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist,” the RCMP noted.
