A collision on Highway 1 on Sunday left a male pedestrian dead, and police asked the public for help identifying his remains.
According to the RCMP, officers were notified of the crash near Mortlach, west of Regina, just before 10 p.m. on Sunday.
“Investigation determined a vehicle struck a male pedestrian, who was declared deceased by EMS at the scene,” the RCMP said in a statement. “Officers are working to identify the male and no further details can be provided about them at this time.”

In an update on Tuesday morning, the Mounties said the pedestrian has been identified as a 32-year-old man from Swift Current, and said his family has been notified of his death.
Police said the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene, and the westbound lanes of the highway were temporarily closed during the investigation.
