Two Regina Police Service (RPS) officers were taken to hospital on Friday after their police vehicle was rear-ended during a traffic stop.
RPS said in a news release on Friday that the patrol was engaged in a traffic stop near the intersection of 9th Avenue North and McCarthy Boulevard and had emergency lights activated on Sept. 6, about 5:40 a.m. when the collision happened.
Police said the injured officers were taken hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the driver remained at the scene, where he was arrested without incident.
A 32-year-old Regina man has been charged with impaired driving causing injury and refusing to comply with a demand. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 24.
