Supporters of the 15-year-old victim attended the courtroom dressed in purple shirts, some with purple ribbons. Outside of the courthouse, they comforted one another.
According to her family, purple was the victim’s favourite colour. In a newsletter sent to the school, they invited students to wear purple on the first day back following the incident as a tribute.
