Nobody was hurt, but some people could be displaced after an apartment fire on Broad Street.
The fire broke out in a suite on the 11th floor of Centre Pointe Plaza on Tuesday evening, causing significant damage to the suite and to nearby units.

Zoe Sargent, who lives in the building, told 980 CJME she was just coming home from work when firefighters arrived.
“The smoke was very heavy, and then eventually we saw some of the flames come out onto the balcony, so it was all over the balcony and then they started to spray it and stuff, and then they had it kind of handled,” Sargent explained.
She said she was concerned about her dog, which was inside during the fire.
“I live on the other side of the building, so I’m kind of grateful, but my dog is in the building as we are talking, so I am kind of worried about him, but I think it will be okay,” she said.
Sargent added that she was worried about the renters in the suite that caught fire.
“That is pretty rough, and I hope they have tenants’ insurance. The people below them too, because they will have so much water damage because they have been spraying in there.”
Patrick Melanson said he had just finished making dinner when the fire alarm went off in the building. Melanson said he wasn’t initially sure if the fire alarm was for a real emergency, as it goes off frequently.
“I was mostly in disbelief that finally the fire alarms did their job – they went off for an actual reason,” he chuckled.
In a post on social media, Regina Fire & Protective Services said it was working to get displaced residents back into their suites, but it’s not clear how many people still can’t return to their apartments.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
