Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating a suspicious death on Big Island Lake Cree Territory.
According to police, a report came in on Thursday afternoon saying someone had been seriously injured at a home. Responding officers found a woman dead at the home, and police are working to identify her.

“The female’s death is suspicious in nature. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation and continue to investigate,” the Mounties said in a statement.
“Anyone with information should contact Saskatchewan RCMP by dialling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).”
Police said updates will be provided as the case develops, and said the public will be notified of any imminent safety risks.
Big Island Lake Cree Territory is located northwest of Meadow Lake, near the Alberta border.
