A Regina man has been charged with armed robbery after an incident in the village of McLean on Saturday.
Indian Head RCMP said in a news release on Monday That officers were called to a business in the 200 block of Main Street in McLean around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 28 after reports of an armed robbery.
Police said the man charged had entered the business carrying “an edged weapon”, took money from the cash register then fled in a vehicle.
That vehicle was located on a grid road by File Hills First Nations Police Service, who were assisting in the investigation, and the driver was taken into custody.
The 53-year-old man was charged with robbery with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and driving while prohibited.
He made his first appearance at Fort Qu’Appelle Provincial Court via phone on Sept. 30, police added.
