Two companies are facing hefty fines after a worker suffered a serious injury near Major, Sask.
According to the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, the charges stem from an incident on December 5, 2022, when a worker near Major was seriously hurt when they were struck by an ejection clamp.
Major is roughly an hour’s drive northwest of Kindersley.

Each company – Strathcona Resources Ltd. and Steel View Energy & Industrial Services Ltd. – pleaded guilty to a single violation of Saskatchewan’s occupational health and safety regulations last month in a Kindersley courtroom.
Strathcona Resources was fined $60,714.29, the ministry noted, along with a surcharge of $24,285.71 for a total amount of $85,000.
Steel View Energy & Industrial Services was fined $39,285.71, with a surcharge of $15,714.29 bringing the total fine up to $55,000.
