Saskatoon police sirens mixed with the festive music from Saskatoon’s annual Santa Claus Parade on Sunday afternoon after officers were called to the 200 block of 3rd Avenue South for a reported stabbing.
At around 1:20 p.m., officers found a 33-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds near the YXE Night Market and Living Sky Café. An ambulance took her to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Concerned parents kept looking over their shoulders at the flashing lights surrounding the crime scene as their children waited for the next floats to arrive.
