At the beginning of September, a 27-year-old Pilot Butte woman was charged for allegedly defrauding social services, now the government has put a few more details in a loss report.
According to police, the woman was charged with fraud over $5,000, two charges of fraud under $5,000, two charges of identity theft and two charges of identity fraud.
Over about five and a half years, starting in January 2019 and ending in June this year, the woman allegedly claimed to be unemployed when she wasn’t, collecting $47,958.44 in benefits.
Now, in a loss report for the provincial government ministries for the second quarter of this year, it said she was collecting Saskatchewan Income Support (SIS) benefits, as well as Transitional Employment Allowance benefits. The report also said for three of those years, she was employed by the Government of Saskatchewan.
