A Yorkton man wanted by Saskatchewan RCMP was arrested after a two-hour standoff with police in Humboldt on Friday.
RCMP said in a news release on Tuesday that the 24-year-old man was wanted on 22 warrants from three police agencies — Yorkton RCMP, Saskatoon Police Service and Moose Jaw Police Service — and officers became aware he was at a home on 11th Street in Humboldt on Nov. 22.
An area was cordoned off by police around the home, and the critical incident response team negotiated with the man for two hours before he came out and was arrested.
RCMP said a woman who was also arrested was later released without charges.
Police found five guns and ammunition in the home, and a vehicle reported stolen near Lake Lenore on Oct, 10 was also found on the property.
The warrants the man was wanted on included failing to stop for police, fleeing from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, driving while prohibited, breaching a release order, failing to comply with a release order, and mischief.
The man has also now been charged with resisting police, uttering threats, and a number of gun charges that include possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He appeared in Humboldt Provincial Court on Monday.
