The Canadian team bounced back from a historic loss to beat Germany at the IIHF World Juniors Hockey Tournament and set up a first-place clash with the United States squad.
Canada got another shutout from goaltender Carter George as the Canadian team blanked Germany 3-0 to earn its second win at the international U20 tournament in Ottawa, Ont.
Canada got a first period goal from Oliver Bonk to open the scoring.
While neither team scored in the second frame, Canada got a goal in the third period with Saskatoon’s Caden Price bouncing a puck off the backboards which ricocheted off German goaltender Nico Pertuch and into the net.

George had 25 saves in the win.
The win got Canada back into the win column after losing 3-2 in a shootout to Latvia on Friday. It was the first time Canada lost a game to Latvia in World Juniors history.
But Canada got some help from Finland earlier in the day. Finland knocked off the U.S. 4-3 in overtime.
That means the winner between Canada (2-0-1-0) and the U.S. (2-0-1-0) will claim the top spot in Group A. That game takes place on New Year’s Eve.
