Whitmore Park man charged for weapons, ID and drug trafficking

A 27-year-old Regina man was arrested in the late afternoon on Friday, December 27 at a residence in the zero block of Pine Place.

The Regina Police Services were dispatched around 4 p.m. on information of a man with a firearm inside the residence.

According to a news release, officers found “a modified airsoft gun, ammunition, a conducted energy weapon, items consistent with drug trafficking, and personal identity documents not belonging to the suspect.”

The 27-year-old is charged with:

• Possession of Firearm / Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)] X8;
• Unauthorized possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon [CC 91(2)]; and
• Possession of an Identity Document [CC 56.1(1)]; and
• Possession of a Scheduled Substance (Methamphetamine) for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2)].

The accused’s first court appearance was on Monday, Dec. 30.
