A familiar face is coming back to the football field, this time as part of the coaching staff.
Two-time Grey Cup champion Chris Getzlaf has been added to the Prairie Football Conference (PFC) Regina Thunder’s coaching staff as an offensive consultant.
Before playing with the Green and White for 11 years, Getzlaf started his football career with the Thunder in 2001-2004.

“For me, it’s like coming home. I got my start in junior football, and it’s a great opportunity to join this franchise as a coach. I will do my best to bring my experience and knowledge to assist in the development of the young men on this team”, said Getzlaf in a statement.
“Football is a grind. It takes incredible dedication to the physical and mental aspects of the game, and I look forward to contributing to the journey of winning a championship in this great city of Regina in 2025.”
The PFC team also added Carter Gusway as an offensive coordinator to the staff.
He joined the team in 2024 as a quarterback coach.
