The woman charged with the first-degree murder of her husband in the RM of Corman Park was granted a $20,000 surety.
35-year-old Lauren Besse was arrested and charged on August 23 in connection to the death of 42-year-old Daniel Magowan.

The surety, which requires a person to take responsibility for supervising an accused individual while they are out on bail, was granted on Dec. 20. Besse must comply with several conditions as part of her release.
Some conditions include reporting regularly to a probation officer, residing at a family member’s approved residence, not changing addresses prior to approval from the probation officer, and following a strict curfew from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Other conditions prohibit Besse from consuming alcohol, or illegal non-prescription drugs, and she must provide breath, blood, or urine samples upon request by a probation officer.
Besse is barred from possessing any firearms and must surrender a passport from any jurisdiction, and cannot apply for a new one.
Besse’s next court date is scheduled for Feb 4.
