A traffic stop on Highway 1 last week saw Saskatchewan RCMP officers seize more than a thousand pounds of illicit cannabis.
The total amount seized was roughly 1,551 lbs according to an RCMP news release, about the same weight as a very large bull moose.
The RCMP said the case began around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9 when the police force’s Roving Traffic Unit stopped a large cargo van on the highway near Swift Current.
The police arrested a 53-year-old man from Port Moody, B.C. who was traveling from his home province to Québec.
