A typical traffic stop turned into a drug bust for the Saskatchewan RCMP’s La Ronge Crime Reduction Team.
This happened in the early hours of Feb. 2, when RCMP officers pulled over a vehicle in Air Ronge in northern Saskatchewan.
Officers determined the female driver had a suspended license and a male passenger had an active warrant for his arrest.

During the arrest of the man, officers found a small amount of cocaine. They proceeded to arrest the driver of the vehicle and the two remaining occupants, another man and woman.
One kilogram of cocaine, a handgun, ammunition, a baton and other drug trafficking items were found during the search.
The four individuals are facing a handful of firearm and drug-related charges.
RCMP respond to another drug-related incident in La Loche
On Jan. 29, RCMP’s Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and La Loche Detachment seized more than 30 grams of crack cocaine in La Loche.
This happened during a search warrant of a residence on George Crescent in La Loche concerning an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
During the search and following arrests, officers located approximately 32 grams of crack cocaine, $1,500 in cash and other evidence of drug trafficking.
Five people were arrested and one woman from La Loche was charged.
The four other people were released without charge.
