It’s Valentine’s Day, and love is on the air at 980 CJME.
While dating in the digital age often involves swiping left and right on Tinder or other dating apps, many people still prefer a face-to-face connection. Veronica Slade, the creator of Queen City Connect, is encouraging people to skip the swipe and try her speed dating events in Regina and Saskatoon, and reporter Mia Holowaychuk visited one of the events to get all the details.

Speaking of dating, more and more people on the prairies are turning to professional matchmakers as they look for love. Teena Monteleone at paNOW spoke with Lianne Tregobov, president of Camelot Introductions, to find out more about how the matchmaker plays cupid for her clients.

And Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love and romance, but it can also be hard on the wallet. Reporter Gillian Massie explored the costly reality of some of the big gestures of affection.
One particular booth at a Saskatoon restaurant has seen hundreds of proposals over the years. With The Cave changing owners for the first time in more than 50 years, let’s take a look back at the restaurant’s “Love Seat” and what made it such a popular spot for couples to get engaged.
Meanwhile, on the Evan Bray Show, Evan opened up the phone lines to ask listeners to share their stories about how they met their partners. The responses were sweet, funny and everything in between.
“I went to school in Langham. I started there in Grade 1, and when I got to Grade 5 my wife showed up there… When we got a little older we started dating, and she was relentless,” said Dusty, one of the callers who shared their stories.
“We got married in 1975, and this summer it’ll be 50 years.”
And we couldn’t forget to highlight the on-air wedding Evan officiated last year. When people ask Rhonda Graham and Mark Knox why they decided to get married on The Evan Bray Show, they respond with a question of their own: “Why not?”
