For the first time in Ronald McDonald House Charities Saskatchewan‘s history, they are receiving money from the Government of Saskatchewan.
The province announced Monday it would be giving six and a half million dollars to the 39.9 million Ronald McDonald House project. Allocating it to Regina’s house specifically, bringing it up to the 80 per cent needed in secured funds to begin construction.

In June 2024, Ronald McDonald House Charity CEO Tammy Forrester announced houses would be built in Regina and Prince Albert.
On Feb. 24, it was announced that the 20-bedroom home in the Queen City would begin construction in March.

It will be built on the corner of Scarth Street and 15th Avenue, keeping the facility centrally located and close to the Regina General Hospital.
The house will include a children’s playroom, an outdoor play space and a communal kitchen.
The province expects construction to wrap up in early 2027.

The total campaign for Ronald McDonald Houses in Regina and Prince Albert is $39.9 million Campaign.
Of the total campaign, $22 million is being raised through the Miles To Go fundraiser, including $14 million for the Regina house and eight million dollars for the Prince Albert house.
Land for the Prince Albert Ronald McDonald House has been secured from a donation from Lake Country Co-op., but they have not secured the 80 per cent monetary goal yet for groundbreaking to begin.
