The City of Regina has big plans for Kinsmen Park South.
According to the city, planned improvements to the park – pending budget approval – include the addition of an accessible playground and spray pad, a year-round public washroom, new seating areas and landscaping improvements.

“Additionally, a new toboggan hill could be created using excavated materials from the project,” the city added in a statement.
“With the addition of a four-season accessible washroom, a potential toboggan hill, a skating area, and ski trail improvements, Kinsmen Park South is set to become a premier winter recreation destination in Regina.”
The city is hosting an information session on Saturday to share more details, and said neighbourhood residents have been invited to get a look at the proposed upgrades to the park, ask any questions they might have, and provide feedback on the plan.
Local residents who can’t attend the session in person can also submit questions through the city’s website.
In addition to the city’s renewal project, the Regina Ski Club is also working to improve the existing cross-country skiing trail through the park, which the city said will be “completed in phases as funding allows.” The club is leading the fundraising efforts, the city noted, while co-ordinating the work with the broader renewal efforts.
More information on the project can be found on the City of Regina’s website.
