Police were called to a business in downtown Regina after a man accidentally shot himself in the arm.
According to the Regina Police Service, this happened on March 25 at around 10:20 a.m. on the 1900 block of Hamilton Street.
The call claimed a man had been shot with a firearm.
Police and paramedics arrived to attend to the victim. Police also found a discarded firearm nearby.
The 26-year-old man was taken to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigation concluded that the gunshot was self-inflicted and a result of an accidental discharge.
The man was also in possession of bear spray.
Multiple charges were laid on the Regina man, including careless use of a firearm and possession of a weapon.
A 16-year-old girl was also on the scene and was arrested for possession of bear spray.
She’s been charged with carrying a concealed weapon. She cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Both individuals are scheduled to make their first court appearance on May 1.
