The CFL’s West Division Most Outstanding Lineman and Melfort native Logan Ferland will be with the Green and White through 2027.
The former Melfort Comet and Regina Thunder offensive lineman inked a two-year contract extension, the Saskatchewan Roughriders announced in a news release on Monday.

Ferland was the glue that held the Rider offensive line together last season, due to several linemates suffering from injuries.
The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Ferland started the season at his traditional right guard position. He was there for 11 starts, but had to move to right tackle for two starts (including the West Final against Winnipeg), and centre for six starts, with one coming in the West semifinal versus the B.C. Lions.
The Melfort native was a key part of an offensive line that allowed just 35 sacks. The offence also led all playoff-bound West Division teams in points scored with 453, touchdowns with 45, touchdown passes with 27, and passer efficiency at 98.1. The offensive line was given top marks by Pro Football Focus in weeks 7, 13, and 16.
Ferland has been a starter on the offensive line since 2021, and this past season he received his first All-CFL nomination.
