The 11th annual Saskatchewan Beef Expo returns to Saskatoon this weekend, and with it come learning opportunities for young cattle producers.
Prairieland Park hosts the event as a way to provide a platform for producers to develop their skills, gain industry knowledge and connect with experts in the field through education and hands-on experience.

This year’s expo will feature renowned cattle expert and clinician Kirk Stierwalt from Leedey, Oklahoma. Stierwalt will kick off the event with a series of demonstrations covering essential industry techniques, including basics and equipment, clipping and grooming. On the second day, he will lead a hands-on clinic, allowing participants to apply their newly-learned skills under his expert guidance.
The event will conclude with a showmanship demonstration and competition, giving exhibitors the chance to refine their presentation skills and gain valuable experience in the show ring.
The final day will feature the heifer and steer shows, at which participants showcase their 2024-born animals.
The event will conclude with the awarding of the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion of each show. Both champions will receive a buckle and a $250 scholarship that will go towards their post-secondary education.
Saskatchewan Beef Expo is happening at the Prairieland Ag Center from Friday to Sunday.
