Leaders from across Saskatchewan’s economy are gathering in Regina on Tuesday morning amid tariff problems and threats from around the world to discuss the current situation and next steps at the annual Global Food, Fuel and Fertilizer Summit.
This will be the third year of the summit, put on by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce and titled using phrasing the premier made popular over the last several years when talking about what the province has to offer the world.
“The summit is bringing together industry leaders, thought leaders, policy makers with a focus on solutions-based discussion on trade, infrastructure, energy and food,” said Prabha Ramaswamy, Chamber CEO, speaking on the Evan Bray Show.

She said the summit and speakers will focus on making sure they tell Saskatchewan stories.
“Highlighting Saskatchewan’s role in securing Canada’s place in this volatile global economy. And, certainly, Saskatchewan has what the world needs and can help position Canada as a global leader,” she explained.
Ramaswamy said the chamber would be listening to the conversations happening and recommendations made throughout the two-day summit and will come out with a post-event policy report that includes specific calls to action.
Premier Scott Moe will kick off the event with the keynote address on the morning of April 8, 2025.
Other speakings expected include the president and CEO of Regina-based AGT Foods, Murad Al Katib, Gordon McKenzie, the president and CEO of Canpotex, and Dan Myerson, the Executive Chairman and CEO of Foran Mining — others from CN, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, CAPP, Prince Rupert Port Authority, and Air Canada are also set to speak.
A similar event for Western Canada, the Western Canada Economic Forum, was held in Regina in January amid what were then, simply threats of tariffs from the U.S.
