Tony Volk, a Brock University professor in the Department of Child and Youth Studies and associate member of the Department of Psychology, joins Evan to share how Canada should deal with “bullies.”

10:45 – With the passing of Pope Francis, Evan speaks with Erica Beaudin, Chief of Cowessess First Nation, who met with the Pope ahead of his travels to Canada to apologize to Indigenous people in 2022.
11:00 – When it comes to things that differentiate Canada from the U.S., we hear about books being banned a lot more in America. That doesn’t mean certain books aren’t banned or restricted in Canada, however. Dr. Erin Weinberg, University of Manitoba instructor in the Faculty of Arts, Department of English, Theatre, Film & Media, is teaching a course now on banned books and joins Evan to discuss how dystopia novels can prepare students to understand parts of the world.

12:00 – Most of Saskatchewan’s firefighters are volunteers. Mandatory training and safety regulations are changing. Aaron Buckingham, vice president of the Saskatchewan Volunteer Firefighters Association, says the funding just isn’t there for it, especially in small communities. He joins Evan to share the message of volunteer firefighters.
