On the final day of the federal election campaign, Liberal leader Mark Carney made a rare second stop in Saskatoon ahead of election day on Monday.
Carney was in Saskatoon earlier this month on April 9, when he first spoke to supporters.
This time around, Carney was at a rally at a local market trying to get some last-minute votes and possibly steal a seat from the conservative hotbed that is Saskatchewan.

Carney was the only federal leader to make two stops in Saskatchewan and Saskatoon over the course of the election campaign.
He spoke for just over 10 minutes at the event and reiterated how he would handle U.S. President Donald Trump and the tariffs implemented on Canada if elected Prime Minister.
“(Trump) and America, they’re trying to break us. They’re trying to break us so they can own us. That’s not going to happen. They’re going to have to come through Saskatoon for that to happen. Through Prince Albert, come through Regina, come through Estevan,” he stated.

Carney said his campaign is not about slogans, but rather solutions.
“When we look at America, they have the politics of anger, division, chaos and slogans and look what’s happening to them. They’re dividing and they’re going to get weaker,” he said. “By being united, we are going to get stronger and they are going to learn a lesson.”
Carney was confident in his party’s ability to win Monday’s federal election, stating that his message of uniting the country is what’s going to get the Liberals across the finish line in first place.
“We will win it because we’re united. We are uniting. This election can be part of that process of uniting. What you decide here in Saskatchewan can be a huge part of this process of the country coming together,” Carney added.
Carney spoke for 20 minutes to supporters in Saskatoon where he outlined his vision.
Carney said his party will fight for Canadians and work with all leaders to build one, big, strong economy.

Carney also reiterated his message to build Canada and grow its economy.
“We are going to build millions of homes. We’re going to build an energy superpower clean and conventional. We’re going to build out the great resources of this province. We are going to build new trade corridors with reliable trading partners,” Carney said.
He also stated that by July 1 his government will have free trade in Canada.
Carney compared the last day of the election campaign to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.
“There is one minute left in the game. We want to win it. We need your support, because together, we can take that spirit of community – that spirit of community that is so central to Saskatchewan,” Carney said. “We can take that community and build Canada strong for everyone.”
Carney did not take any questions from the media.
Carney’s stop in Saskatchewan comes after Carney briefly paused his election campaign on Sunday to express condolences to victims and their families, hours after a vehicle attack in Vancouver killed 11 people and injured many more.
“Last night, families lost a sister, a brother, a mother, a father, a son or a daughter. Those families are living every family’s worst nightmare,” Carney said of the Saturday evening attack during a stop in Hamilton.
“I know that I join all Canadians in mourning with you. I know that Canadians are united with you.”
