The Riders won on Saturday and it’s interesting to hear the different takes from the fans following the game.
There is a group that believes the 38-27 win over Toronto will be the turning point for the Riders. They believe the team and Chris Jones will start to win more than they lose the rest of the way, including winning big West Division games.
Another group of fans believe they beat a tired Argonauts team that has a 3-3 record is somehow overrated, believing reality will bite hard in the team’s next five games, all of which are against western opponents.
While you may have an opinion one way or the other, these next five games will tell us all which side of the debate is more accurate.
I think the Riders have shown they are a lot more competitive and that should come with wins, but if those wins can’t come against West Division teams, we all know one thing – they won’t make the playoffs.
While we don’t have a clear vision on where this Riders team is going or if they’ll make the playoffs, at least a playoff race appears to be in their future.
