Jamie Nye: I was always told to dream big

The news that Regina is being looked at as a potential host city for FIFA World Cup games has me very excited.

I had a back and forth with someone texting that I should keep dreaming that a World Cup would ever be hosted by the Queen City.

Well, to that person, can you let me dream a little bit before reality bursts my bubble?

The people in the soccer community in Saskatchewan are definitely trying to get the ducks in a row to meet a September deadline to formally apply to be part of the Canada/US/Mexico World Cup bid.

And I’ll continue to dream that this could actually happen at the new Mosaic Stadium.

The World Cup would be considered a bucket list item for me and while it is pretty unlikely Regina actually gets picked, Sarah Mills and I can continue to hold out hope this world class event could arrive in our backyard.

For Sarah’s sake, maybe England comes to town for a match.
