IMAX viewers rejoice: a second screen is being installed in Regina.
The Cineplex Cinemas Normanview location is one of two locations in Canada getting new IMAX screens. One is also being installed in Toronto, Ont.
“Cineplex is a leading entertainment company and an excellent partner that shares our commitment to innovation,” said Richard Gelfond, CEO of IMAX Corporation, in a news release.
The other IMAX theatre in Regina can be found at the Saskatchewan Science Centre.
“Offering our guests new entertainment choices and a variety of experiences is what Cineplex is about and we are proud to partner with IMAX on this venture,” said Ellis Jacob, president and CEO of Cineplex.
Both sites are expected to be open November 2017.
The company is also opening Canada’s first IMAX VR Centre in Toronto.
Once these two locations are open, there will be 25 IMAX auditoriums in Canada.
