The $1.33M rent reduction comes from what the club owed during seasons impacted by the pandemic.

They knew that defensive back Justin Cox was trouble, not worth keeping around, couldn’t be rehabilitated. So Orridge, the CFL’s former commissioner, deemed that no team could offer Cox a contract right after the Riders said they were terminating the troubled DB.
Cox was dumped in April, after being charged a third time with domestic assault. Those charges were ultimately dropped because of a lack of evidence. Now he’s been charged a fourth time. He’s scheduled to appear in a Regina courtroom on Thursday, plus he has an upcoming trial in the U.S.
This has been said before: Good people don’t accidentally get charged four times with domestic violence. Guilty or not guilty, if Cox had done something to show he was trying to rehabilitate himself, maybe he would have been given another chance. Not now. No way!
