For the second time, Regina residents are filling up their cups with award-winning water.
The Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant won a taste test competition at the annual Western Canada Water and Wastewater Association conference in Saskatoon.
980 CJME went out to talk to people to find out if they liked Regina’s water.
“I’ve tasted better water, but I’ve also tasted worse water,” Lucas Aschenbrener said. “In Alberta, I went to Red Deer and was like, ‘Have you tasted your water? It’s disgusting.’”
Janice Pelletier said she believes all of Canada’s water should be highly regarded because of how accessible it is.
“I’ve been to a country where I’ve had to brush my teeth with bottled water,” she said.
The wastewater plant will now be allowed to submit a sample to the American Waterworks Association annual conference next year and compete with plants across North America.
There were 10 other facilities who competed in the event.
