With one game remaining in their regular season, the CFL’s hottest team has no idea where it’s going.
If the Saskatchewan Roughriders win their final game, Saturday against the visiting Edmonton Eskimos, they will visit the beaten-up Winnipeg Blue Bombers eight days later in the west semifinal. The semifinal winner plays the Calgary Stampeders, who are suddenly struggling.
If the Roughriders lose to Edmonton, they become the crossover team in the east semifinal and visit either the Ottawa Redblacks or the Toronto Argonauts, depending on whether Toronto wins or loses its last game.
So the Riders could visit Edmonton, Ottawa or Toronto in a sudden-death game. That makes it impossible to make travel plans or start preparing for the playoffs.
Is it an easier path through Winnipeg and Calgary, or should they go through the east? Nobody knows just yet.
