Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP have laid charges after a man was shot on Friday night in that community.
Sixty-three-year-old Richard Maier has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, point firearm, careless use of a firearm, and using a firearm in the commission of an indictable offence.
Officers were called about a man being shot with a high-powered rifle. RCMP say leading up to the shooting, there had been a domestic incident and that both people involved were related, though no further details were given.
The victim was sent by ambulance to the General Hospital in Regina. His injuries is non-life threatening.
Maier will appear in Fort Qu’Appelle provincial court on Monday.
