It won’t be a silent night at city hall as Regina begins its official countdown to Christmas.
The annual Light the Lights event will take place Monday night.
Holiday lights at city hall, including those on nearby trees, will be turned on in one magical moment.
The event features a wide variety of activities, snacks and a special visit from the man himself.
“We have Santa inside where it’s nice and warm for the kids to see him, so it’s going to be wonderful,” Mayor Michael Fougere told the 980 CJME Morning Show.
Fougere also noted the recent snowfall will help people get into the Christmas spirit.
“It wouldn’t be Light the Lights if there wasn’t lots of snow and cool weather,” Fougere joked.
The event gets underway at 6 p.m., with the lights expected to be turned on around 6: 30 p.m.
